City Green's one acre farm and Learning Garden is located in the historic and beautiful Eastside Park in Paterson, New Jersey. Eastside Park, a 66-acre city-run space hugging the Passaic River, was built in 1899 by John Y. Culyer, an assistant engineer under famous landscape designer Frederick Law Olmstead, and is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. The park boasts an incredible collection of tree species in a formalized design including a stable for horses that was recently restored. The City Green farm and Learning Garden sit just beyond the "White House", home of the city's Department of Recreation.
City Green grows a variety of delicious organic fruits and vegetables on this site as well as utilize the space to host educational field trips, community events and summer garden camps for Paterson residents. We are proud to be the only working farm in the city of Paterson and provide an engaging and unique outdoor space for the community
